This is the profile of what the typical reader of my magazine would be like.

• Gender - female
• Age - 11-16
• Buy magazines such as - Top of the Pops & Smash Hits (while it was still being published.
• Intersts - shopping, music, cinema. Likes watching talent programmes - especially X Factor.
• Music - pop. Very upbeat music. Is open to other genres of music such as Dance and R n B.
• Artists - every day typical boyband eg: JLS. And solo artists such as Lady Gaga and Pink.

You need to take your pictures this week and post some of them before you work on them in photoshop. I'd also like to see a draft of your feature article soon please to give you time to improve it.

This is the UK download top 40 and it is showing the that many genres of music are popular and they are all pretty much brand new songs released within the last month or so; they are also frequently played on the radio and the music videos are frequently on T.V. 

There is a bit of fluctuation in the chart as well with songs being downloaded more frequently than the week before and vice versa; the situation tends to be that they are downloaded less frequently than the week before.

Equipment and technologies

In my project the pieces of equipment and technologies I will be using are:-

• Photoshop - I will be using this to cut my images out 
• In Design - I will be using this to do the layout for my cover. 
• Digital Still Camera - I will be using this to take the photos for my cover and any images I will have on my contents page and in my feature article. 
• The internet - I used it during research and found the magazine cover and album cover I analysed using google. I also found the Circulation figures for current music magazines through using the internet. I will also find the fonts I will use in my magazine using dafont.com.

Band Album Cover Analysis

The album cover I have chosen to analysis is Same Difference's album Pop. I chose it based on the fact that it is fun and carefree.

This album would easily appeal to people who enjoy pop music because it is colourful and the pure positive vibe the artists give on the cover. The colour scheme is mostly pink which suggests that the target audience is young girls, between the ages of 10 and 15 but it could also appeal to other age groups as well. Also the overall demeanor of them on the album cover is carefree and would therefore be targeting and appealing to girls 10-15.

The expression on their faces especially tell you that the album is going to be full of cheesy, but happy upbeat music.

The clothes they are wearing also give off a cheesy vibe, the way they are positioned on the cover and the background on the cover all give off a cheesy pop vibe. The ice cream cone and drink and the overall cafe setting is purposeful as it is aimed at giving the band an overall carefree, fancy free image.

They are represented as fun loving people because they look very carefree due to the clothes they are wearing; the girl is wearing a flowing dress, and the boy is dressed in casual jeans and t-shirt and a jacket. The way they are positioned for the cover also show them to be carefree; the girl is sat down and the guy is holding a phone in his hand. 

Unique Selling Point

As my music magazine is going to be of the pop genre; my unique selling point will be focused on having a fun appealing cover, with plenty of bright colours on it, and the "stars" on the cover will attract attention quickly as they will be dressed in up to date and funky date.
I will also keep my magazine open to other genres of music other than pop so that it will appeal to people with interests in other genres.
